Whats the best way forward then? The chassis and body panels are ok but under the car, floors etc are fairly rotten, its going to cost loads to replace everything. Think ill try and sell dont know what ill get for a half stripped down one and then try for a defender.

well on closer instigation turned out to be a corroded earth connection on the chassis. Well that was a quick fix for a change!

Tried the batter disconnect and still nothing just starts clicking again when I connect it back up. No joy with the key fob sync either.

I cant start the car nothing happens at all when I turn the key. Tried to reset the immobiliser doing the key in the drivers door but its not working. The alarms doesn't full go off, it just chirps and bleeps with lots of clicking from the green box in the passenger foot well.

I was worried that would be the only answer! Is there anything else I can do? I have seen alot of people with checkered plate alont the bottom of the doors. Is it possible to cut away and put the plate on over the top? Its going to end up expensive to get all new doors as part of the rebuild.

Ok starting a rebuild on a 95 disco. The chassis is mint but going to clean it up etc. Anyway the dody work is good but the bottom of the doors and boot are a little corroded. Im thinking about a body lift and arches so it might be a case off cutting off some of the doors. But what is the best...

There was a programme A 4x4 is born he used a Rangy chassis to bild a defender had a lot of cutting and welding for accommodation of the defender body. Not sure where he got the info for that from.

Hi all new into here normally just in the disco section. Anyway got a 95 V8 disco that plan is to rebuild, In the middle of removing the chassis which is mint. But always wanted a defender, is it possible to use the disco chassis to build up a defender from my chassis? Is it a lot of work? Thanks

Yes, get a copy of LRO - land Rover international mag, always adverts in there for chassis think they are galvanised ones though and about 1500+Vat.

I had a similar problem got a new key fob for Lr but it was also the door lock needing adjusted. Just removed the door card and loosened the bolts for the lock and slid it over a bit. A bit of playing but works now. Hope its that simple.

Right moving on with the disco rebuild V8. Got everything disconeccted to lift the body however what about the AC? How is best to remove this to allow the body lift and other work on ht engine? Do I have to to get a specialist to bleed the system?

I get that on my dads car, It just condensation maybe looks like the gear box getting blown in that direction. My dads car is brand new and took it straight to the dealer to confirm.
