SERIES 2B 1 Ton Wide Steel WS

Ok, so it is you wagon is it? Nice. I'm intrigued... very. Those rims are, definitley, definitely not the rare 569203, even if stamped with that number, (see that thread) so can I ask you to rivet-count for this one? In my best nasally voice, I would have said they might be pretender 569203...

    Tuned 2.25 Carb choice

Ashley do a header as do ACR. I suspect the Ashley one, is a f*ck-up, all pipes are the same length, they used to make it S/S though, (I have one of these spare too, but have never fitted ti to be sure) it must put the torque up the rev range. Fine for a Mini, but can't be good for a Land Rover...

    Tuned 2.25 Carb choice

I've got a ACR SU carb and manifold going on Ebay soon. Don't come on thsi forum too much, I'm an OLLR man myself, but even if you don't go with mine, SU is hte way to go, Simple to set up and ACR fit them for a reason. Rowland is a world authority on getting horses out of thsi lump, why fight...

    LPG onto a 2.5...

Fit elctronic ignition with LPG. For years i fought against it. The only idiot for not doing it, was me! Ordinary plugs is fine - why platinum sparks? If you must, i suppose, but not needed, if you have good ignition. Simon BBC did min new dizzy and electronic coil. From freezing it'll start...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Tubular Exhaust manifold Header for Series 2.5 or 2.25. I am to be corrected but that thar' is an ACR Powerplus jobby. See pix .... Like mine. I'll check later, but farly sure it is. I also have the MM Big bore version in SS which I got ('used' for near sod all) after I'd lashed out on an...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Definitely be careful with large bore exhausts. After all, if large bore was better, why bother with one t all! Bin it. I noticed, when mine was blowing it was noisy as f*ck but also gutless, so, you do need back pressure, and a pressure pulse in the pipe for better xtraction, which is not so...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

MM 4 x4 and Rimmers used to do these. Same supplier I think. But never did find out who. I have the ACR jobby, becuse the Rimmer/MM option was sold out. ACR version works, but fit is iffy on my series 109. (hits leaf sprong shackle boltson bumpy roads). Still not right as we speak, but to be...

My first ever land rover, series 3, 88"

A lovely sympathetic biuld. Love it. No 'monster truck' or chequer-plated croc dundee nonsense, and disfigurements. Modulars rims etc etc. If there's mods they look liek they're going to be subtle. Nice. tasteful recognisable series. I want it. Well done

    Parabolic springs

I concur on that. My S2 liek so many had been left lying around for years and it was SOLID. I could see things fitted that 'looked' like springs, but where solid bars..... First time I drove it I got back ache from the impacting. I was new to LR driving back then and what with the culture shock...

    Radiator cap help

I'd say it matters - from: http://www.series123.com/UKhomepages/index97/index.html Early Series Land Rovers had radiator caps designed to relieve excess pressure at 10lb/sq in whereas in later models this was reduced to Early Series Land Rovers had radiator caps designed to relieve excess...

    Parabolic springs

Agree with that. Fire some grease in there. All Paraboll*cks! is what it is! Hogwash. Std springs in good nick are great. Only problem is 30-40 years later, most are not. Yes if your old springs are shot, fit Parabolox, you'll notice a differnce then, but greased up to the nines, std springs...

    Condensation and mould :-(

I've a Lasalle headlining in my 109. I got terribel condensation, bt that not Lasalle's fualt. The headlining does funnel it to the front which is good! And the lining went from a speckled limestone as supplied to a murky durge. it adds what they call in the antique trade 'patina' Now its an...
