Just spotted this thread and noticed that you mentioned a 1990 Rangerover classic TDi. It wont be factory as they didn't fit the 200 TDi as early as 1990 so it will most likely to have been a V8. In 1990 t would have been a 2.5 TD VM engine which was not very good. But it is basically the same...

Well you don't say what year it is and private plates are not for everyone. 114k is not really what I would class as low mileage but just below average to me low mileage would be 80-90k. You say it needs attention to the chassis soon and some paintwork. I have seen plenty around for £1800-2500...

I looked but distance and price put me off. I think its a bit expensive for a disco that will need some work on the chassis but that's just my opinion. Also a lack of pictures wont help.

The value will go up but to get the most out of it the put it back to original spec. There are plenty of cheap rotting V8s out there to get the parts from.

You could try getting hold of someone like National Numbers I believe they will try and trace the owners to see if it for sale.

The only way your colleague cant claim I if they signed paperwork saying that they wont claim. If they havnt then they can still claim. As for the OP. Have a word with the repair company to see how much extra it would cost to paint a bit more than the damage.

Hi Guys just after a bit of advice really. I am thinking of buying a 1998 P38 2.5 Diesel and want to know what to check. I have had plenty of Discos and Range Rover classics but not P38s. I know the usual rust and leaks, warning light etc but what else. Cheers
