yeah that were my turbo. I was kinda hoping that most of the big bits got stuck in the intercooler... :D

erm, rover SD1 V8's had a rear wheel drive LT77 fitted to them. That may be worth investigation.

the brakes will have the most effect on the power. I wasn't aware you had gone 200 pos... nice arn't they :) If you have diesel in your oil i would get it changed ASAP - oil that has been thinned with diesel will NOT lubricate your delicate turbo very well, and it will fail. like this.
