My 96 2.5DSE P38 has a strange accelartion, especially when cold. It doesnt accelerate cleanly through the auto box changes, from about 50mph up to 70 mph the revs vary up and down by approx 200 rpm. The hotter it gets the better it gets. But like all it seems to run very cold on the temp gauge...

My P38 has a JVC after market headset and CD auto changer. It works fine using the standard speakers, through the amp. Best I've heard in sometime.

It would be a good idea to have a listing by area of independant LR specialists for the forum

Nick, no real problems, apart from it seems the 2.5 bmw engine is reluctant to start when hot, needs cranking a bit. I have seen some so called fix kits for sale on Ebay, and wondered what they are, and do they work.

Looking on Ebay there are a number of people selling info or kits to fix the reluctant hot starting of the bmw 2.5d engines. Are these fixes genuine. Do they work. Does anybody know whats involved.

Wills, thanks for that. everything seems to be fine with it. Think I'll leave it for a while. Better to be cool than hot. My TD4 Freelander is always mid range, but it does have that silly preheater fitted. Burns fuel like hell. I'm getting 28 to 30 mpg out of the RR, so cant be bad.

Why would my doors lock when I press the rear hatch open button. The top half of the hatch unlocks allowing me to open it. but then all the doors lock, and the lower half of the rear hatch wont unlock. I then have to press the unlock button again to allow me to open fully. Strangley if i just...

I have just bought a 96 2.5d P38. the only issue is that it runs very cold. With an outside air temp showing at 6 deg, and after a 30 mile motorway run the temp gauge is just above blue. Is this normal for this engine. what can be done to bring the temp up. I'm not sure if the thermostat is in...
