That shouldnt have created a fault. Its normal to put into low range with the engine running. Sounds like the ecu thinks its not fully engaged.

Yep sounds like your battery is caput. Mine did the same.

They should only alter the headlight intensity. They are legal, and as long as you dont disturb the headlight adjusters then no adjustment should be required. A simple check would be to turn the lights on and shine onto a flat surface, mark the beam centres, make the change and check again...

Hi Mark, Yes if the pumps working then there could well be a connection between that and the water. I would check all around the boot area looking at the washer lines. If the problem was beyond the check valve (marked 10) then I would doubt it getting into the boot well.

Mark, its possible that you have a leak in the pipe before the check valve. However if the pump isnt running then that wont be the proble. If you look at the diagram above then you can see 3 separate washer pumps, each one controls either the windscreen headlamps or rear screan. with the bonnet...

Had same problem with mine. I changed the jet for a replacement part from Halfords cost about £1.50. Checked the old one oce removed, and it was full of gunk.

Had similar problems on Left rear, for side lights reversing light and rear fog. All bulbs were fine, just the computer saying they had failed. Cleaned all the contacts and this cured the prob. Maybe you have 2 issues, duff bulb, plus slight corrosin on contacts.

even those of us that live in semi urban areas have the need of a 4x4, especially to drag the bloody horses about the dam country. Note they even got a miss quote from clarckson, he uses a 4x4 to take his kiddies to school. wants to keep em safe.

Just to say I tried it in low range. Didnt have the same problem. pulled cleanly through all gears in drive. Strangely this morning it pulled much better only the slightest hint of a hestitation as I pulled out onto the motorway. Outside temp was reading 7deg. Dave

I give my plugs 2 goes before cranking, this works everytime. engine fires first flick then. Shame it doesnt when its warm. Will try tigapglets fix when I get the chance. Got the Sprinter to fix this weekend so no playtime in the rangie.
