My boss washed the trucks this morning. One of the other drivers jumped into one of them half an hour later - and the handbrake was frozen on. To be fair, it has been -4C here all day.

and now the brake calipers and drums will all freeze solid, coz clean water freezes more easily than salt water :eek: (ask me how I know this...) :p

Oh yes... no fewer than 4 telephone calls made on my behalf, 3 nurses fussing over me, 3 x-rays taken - and for the record...only 30 mins waiting time at A&E....and not a queuing ambulance to be seen! :D

It had been one of many involved in rtc's in the last 10 days...but was covered in snow and ice....and in the way! I only wanted to clear a wee hole so the apprentice could steer as it was shoved. Something we do day in day out....had to get me sometime I guess :eek:

And here is today's health and safety hint for winter weather. When intending to sweep loose snow from a windscreen in order to move the car out of the way.....make sure that the windscreen is intact!!! :eek:

The hourly rate is still cheaper than most in the UK. Not convinced by the 10 hours aspect however - without changing the flywheel it should only be a 4-5 hour job, I would have thought. :)
