Branded flushes work well, to well in fact, on an old engine I wouldn't recommend it, try to use a strong detergent oil then change it after 200 miles, the scuddy oil will get caught in the filter so you must change it. Change it again after 1000 miles and all should be well.

Rebuilding the interior after painging

Can't see without stripping the dash. The wire has been cut just under the slim piece of trim and goes no further up. There is just two tail sticking out of the dash.

Hi, Up the right hand side of the screen is the interior lighting wires, (purple and black) I have two sets running up there, one set works the interior light but the other set seems to do nothing, Mr Haynes is no help at all, any idea what the other set are for?

Defenders are good fun on the road with plenty of torque and loads of character, don't expect much room though and expect a lighter wallet once you get one. Mine pushes out about 30 to the gallon if driving steady or about 15 driving hard. Will sit at 70 quite happily all day and handles. ...

Agree, try hitting with a screwdriver until you find good metal then cut the crap out before welding the new plate, rusty steel is very porous and tends to hold water for longer thus rusting the rest out. The plates from YRM make life easier Discovery
