Haven't had anything done so far, as the MOT is on the 16th December. But I would thought I would post this question. Would a slipping torque converter cause the same issue of the gears not changing up? Reason I ask recently the car has been producing a fair amount of smoke inside the car...

Hello All, thanks for all the replies and support. Good news is that all the plugs are sparking when held close to the engine block. Bad News - Did the compressor test, with the pieces that you screw in to the plugs, rather than just hold and push. Cylinders 1 & 4 both gave a reading of 120...

That's a good price to, recharge and clean for 39.99, and a free test. ATS is the closest of them all as well. Might have to go along with them. I book it first thing for next month :)

Hello, you are right. Just been on to the Halfords Autocentre webpage, and they do free air con checks. The recharge is only £49 to. And for an extra £10 they do an antibacterial clean to, so that sounds like even better option. :)

At a guess then the National AirCon may be better at doing this, as I would of thought as they specialise in the air con systems, they would have common sense to go with it... hopefully :) I give them a call and let you all know how I get on.

When we got our td4 one of the rear side windows didn't not want to work. I did swap the switch round as that is the easiest thing to try first, but ours made no difference. When I used the switches for the rear door I could hear a very faint click from the motor. I took the door card off...
