My 2001 TD4 has had two tanks with 2 stroke in and the change is very noticable. A lot smoother on start up and tick over quieter running and better mpg
if in only front wheel drive mode ( mondo mode ) then I dont think there will be a prob as there is no connection from the IRD to the VCU to the rear diff.Someone else maybe will put me right if I am talking cobblers
Have you got a copy of RAVE it will show you all the hoses needed. They are not that hard to change. Look at this link, should help.

Also how do you stand IF you bought the vehicle and it was already de-catted. Will they expect you to know this and also replace the missing cat system???
Have had 2 vans and a class two scania do it so far. Dipped clutch,got to side of road or layby and got the hell out. Dont want to be too close if it goes pop.
I would do the same as hedgyhog70 as at least you are controling the vehicle rather than fighting it and trying to avoid other motorists. The other cars will soon move when they see whats happening.
