    RH drive to LH drive?

You get a much better choice for canada - 15 years or older, so that gives up to a 1993. When I emmigrate to NB I'll be bringing my turbo diesel 90. Happy Days

    RH drive to LH drive?

Just make sure that the one you buy is 25 years old or older - if you're in americaland. So that rules out all but the earliest 110 if you want a "defender", unless you want to get involved in the dodgy art of ringing a new car to the i.d. of an old un - but I've heard that the authorities are...

Heavy breathing...not me, the fuel cap!

aye I knows that but who ever heard of TDs being known for having breathy fuel caps?? Just assumed he'd misread the interweb.

Heavy breathing...not me, the fuel cap!

its the oil filler cap that shows how breathy your TD is. They all are, some much more than others. The pressure of the "breath" tends to push oil splashes up and then they run down the breather tube (the flexy hose) which meets a big hose and then the oil goes into the air filter mankying it...

Oil pressure & oil temperature gauges

I wired up my oil temp gauge a while back but seem to remember that at the back of the gauge there's a green wire for the power and then I ran a light green with green wire to the engine bay, and now onto my new temp sender. The sender itself is earthed. The only earth on the gauge is for the...

Oil pressure & oil temperature gauges

Just fitted an oil temp sensor today - goes on the oil filter housing where there is normally a blanking bolt, hidden away in behind the injector pipes. It's the exact same sensor used for coolant temp. PRC2505.

Aux fuel tank on a 90?

Thanks - aye one for each and an upgrade from the old TD filter to 200tdi. Diesel goes to drivers side one, veg goes to heat exchanger then other filter. Both then go to switching valve, which then goes thru lift pump to injector. Run off goes back to valve where it mixes with incoming fuel...

Aux fuel tank on a 90?

put a Td5 tank at the rear (you'll need two brackets - easy to have made), use a series filler surround and get a plastic filler tube from a disco. It all aligns up perfectly. Tis what I am doing / have almost finished You can pick up a TD5 tank for about £50 and a tdi sender that fits...

    NewBie : Which one ?

I used to have a 90 stationwagon for my three big lurchers with sliding windows and a dog guard, but in the end it stunk and if you opened a window we'd have what we called a "furricane" where dog hair seemed to stick to every bit of your face and clothes imaginable. And its not like I didn't...

    windscreen fitting

well as a post-script and following the sage wisdom plucked from this forum, I dun it. Not to say there weren't a few hairy moments like when couldn't get the seal to stay on the window long enough to place it on the frame (it seemed very britpart-loose). And when the rope snapped. And when...
