Battery cut off - any tips?

Well I can safely say the cut off works, I spent more time this morning than I'm willing to admit trying to start it before I realised why it wouldn't work!

Battery cut off - any tips?

    I used a 40 amp relay.

Battery cut off - any tips?

Hey gang, I fitted this today, and I'm pretty pleased with it. I've fitted the relay in the engine bay and used old mid-matched wiring to try and stop it standing out. I've wired it up so its live as standard and kills the feed when the relay is live. Hid the switch somewhere in the cabin, so...

Battery cut off - any tips?

Fuel solenoid seems to be the best option I think. Going to have a play this weekend. I bought a key switch from Maplins, so even if they find the switch they won't be able to turn it I don't have an alarm, immobiliser or radio. All I have is lights, and even they don't work all that well!

Battery cut off - any tips?

Well good thing I asked isn't it!! I'll have a look at my wiring diagram.

Battery cut off - any tips?

So I bought myself a nice big 40 amp relay and a switch. I'd like to wire them into a battery cut off to try and deter any would-be thieves. I was going to separate the battery cable between the positive terminal and the starter somewhere, would this be the right point to break the circuit?

    Handbrake part numbers

Cheers guys, I appreciate the help! I'll get that ordered!

    Handbrake part numbers

Hmmmm, maybe I'm being dim (likely) but I can't seem to find the part on there? It's the cylinder that pushes the handbrake shoes onto the drum, I thought it would be quite an easy part to find!

    Handbrake part numbers

I've got a 1985 90, and I need to replace the handbrake shoes and cylinder, but I don't seem to be able to find any replacements online, does anyone have any part numbers at all that they can share with me? Mine has seized up.

Indicators won't indicate when headlights on

I'd never have thought of that! Thanks! I'll have a play around and see what I can find!

Indicators won't indicate when headlights on

As above! My indicators to turn left won't flash if I have my headlights on, the right ones are fine, and the left work when the lights aren't on! Any idea what I might need to look at?!

    Urgent - petrol in diesel!

Yeah alright for some, I'm sure if I called up Land Rover from my 89 90 they'd laugh in my face. Then again I'm not sure it would make it all the way to Germany!

    Urgent - petrol in diesel!

I told them not to switch on the ignition so luckily they didn't, it turns out their Land Rover extended warranty covers pretty much everything under the sun so a very nice German man came and took them to the nearest dealership who are presumably going to fix it all for free. Not a bad turn...

    Urgent - petrol in diesel!

My mum is currently in Germany with her 2012 Freelander and her and my dad have somehow managed to put petrol in the fuel tank. I don't know all the details, she reckons 3 gallons worth. My questions are thus; Is it easy to drain it (like at the roadside with little knowledge of cars) or can...

    Bottom pulley keeps coming loose

I'm always a bit scared by the internals of engines! I'll have a look and see what I'll be looking at replacing the crank. It may be worthwhile taking the opportunity to replace the engine with something a little more modern to be honest.

    Bottom pulley keeps coming loose

Damn. That is what I was worried you'd say. The pulley spins freely at the moment and doesn't appear to sit squarely on the crank and moves about quite a lot. I think this may be the end for this engine.

    Bottom pulley keeps coming loose

Hi guys, had the pulley off. The crankshaft seems to have no key of any kind on it, and is fairly damaged where it's come loose. It also appears someone has previously tried my trick of welding it to the shaft! Not really sure what to do to be honest.

    Bottom pulley keeps coming loose

Anyone have any idea what part number it is? Just looking to see if there are any local to me, but I have no idea what I'm looking for!
