New Magazine - Range Rover World

Never said I know better! Can only go on my own experience. My 95DT occasionally had the flat battery problem (if left for more than 1 wk), I also fitted a hot start solution. My current 2000 DHSE has 107k and to date it's just normal wear and tear. Both I have bought from a friend who himself...

New Magazine - Range Rover World

Most people post on these forums because they have a problem in the hope that maybe there is someone who can offer helpful advise (as opposed to sarcastic drivel.... No offence). There are a lot of posts for all models, does that mean they are all crap, or is it just p38's that get the abuse...

New Magazine - Range Rover World

Looking in the wrong place then. I've owned 2 classics and 2 p38's. On the p38's I've just had to replace the air suspension bags (both done 100k) on originals. Also air suspension pump on latest one (2000 model). My RR's are used daily inc towing caravan for hols. I cover about 10,000 miles a...

New Magazine - Range Rover World

£5.99 better for a mag with RR's rather than £4.20 for a mag with none!! :) :) I for one don't mind reading about what, one day, may be in reach for me as a replacement for my 2nd (trouble free) P38 :D lenb

    Arnott EAS Parts

I bought a set of Arnott II springs about 2 months ago and fitted the front pair easily. You do need clips because the others shear. I've only fitted the fronts so far and I am well pleased. The RR I fitted them to is a '95 DT and the originals had done 118k. I have just bought a 2000 DHSE...

    1 year of p38 ownership

Had my 1995 DT 3 years and been very happy :-) Low box has never worked (but never been needed). Passenger window has 2 teeth missing from winder but still shuts. Front air springs have been replaced after originals had done nearly 120k and I'm selling it!!!!!!!! ...... because I...

Drivers Door & Tailgate won't unlock

Hi Craig, I took the door panel off and couldn't find anything broken. Didn't fancy spending on a new door latch as suggested by an earlier reply. It was suggested that it was maybe a switch problem so I got the wd40 out and sprayed around that area. I then operated the sill lock by hand for a...

    How does chipping work?

Thanks for your reply. I drive a 1995 2.5DT Manual. It had a new rad before I bought it. Under normal driving around town etc the temp hardly moves above the blue, at 60-70 mph dual carriageway driving it will go up 1 division which is still under half way. Towing my c'van moves it up one...

    How does chipping work?

What does chipping the engine actually do? Am I right in assuming it tells it to add more fuel at a given time or is there more to it? The claimed better fuel economy I assume is through having to change down less. If this is the case then it may explain why my fuel consumption on a long...

    P38s - which one?

I have a 1995 2.5DT that was well looked after by the previous owner. It has been no problem at all (apart from changing leak off pipes and a little problem with central locking which is now sorted), the airbags are still the originals (although pump was changed by lasy owner) and it doesn't...

Help please - diesel or petrol for towing?

Help please - diesel or petrol for towing?

That's another in defence of diesels :) Can I watch the competition, tug of war between V8 & Diesel ... great fun :D lenb

Help please - diesel or petrol for towing?

In defence of diesel's, my 2.5 DT regularly tows our 24ft caravan without a problem. It is a manual which probably gives the edge over an auto diesel. It all depends on how you drive, 60mph is no problem (any faster is of course illegal), and yes it may slow down uphill. But too much of a...

Drivers Door & Tailgate won't unlock

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I just went out and tried with the key ....... no luck. Key operation only unlocks drivers door so does not disable alarm. Locking with key locks all doors but then unlocking again only unlocks drivers door again. All the while the tailgate remains locked ...

    Anyone with Testbook in Leicester

Hi All, So no one knows what is wrong with my drivers door and tailgate so I was wondering if there is anyone in Leicester with a testbook who would be willing to check for me. I have a 1995 P38 2.5 DT manual without aircon, cruise control etc ...... just a base model. Thanks in advance...

Drivers Door & Tailgate won't unlock

Hi Folks! All of a sudden my Tailgate will not unlock, also the drivers door will not lock with the fob but will unlock! Also by pressing the sill lock when inside the central locking does not activate. It will if I use passenger door sill button. Bought a new battery (old one was iffy anyway)...
