Yeah you need a CD to update at a stupid cost so it aint worth that. I've left mine in as it give Lat/Long which I find useful sometimes. But as for Nav I use a Garmin... or my tablet app

So you don't think much of fitting one to 'A' frame in front?

Engine revving up surely means the viscous fan would spin and draw air through no matter what speed of travel. I'd suspect the viscous coupling too as being too loose to spin fast enough. Some folks fit the elec fan to the front of the rad to suppliment the viscous if needed :)

TD4 will do the job, you might find a 3 door commercial more to your pocket too ;)

Also beware of putting too much strain on an Autobox with heavy loads as the final drive will slip and 'burn' ;)

At the back of the engine bay under the top cover that the oil filler cap sits over, just in front of the air filter, is the housing for the oil breather. The fuel cut off is behind the fuse box and ECU in the engine bay passenger side. I think it only operates when knocked.

If you can only afford 1 at a time, it may be worthwhile using your spare as the second of the pair until you can afford another, then use the new as a spare again. Also check your tyre pressures all the way around.

Get the recommended LR servicing schedule for Freelander and ask a good local garage to quote you the cost. :D

Just a thought... have you checked your battery or alternator for good volts feed? I used to temporarily clear symptoms similar to yours by ignition OFF and then ON again.

Look at the RAVE CD (can be downloaded on this site) and check what wires have been spliced or cut when radio's removed.

Looks like someone has connected to the wrong wire after manufacture
