    Rear brakes TD4

Nice one thanks a lot. So if I was to intervene, because I strongly suspect the auto adjuster doesn’t work, i slacken off handbrake adjuster under arm rest, then I turn ratchet to get shoes just rubbing, then adjust handbrake cable? I think I will get the garage to retest the handbrake but if...

    Rear brakes TD4

Well that’s what I thought but I am confusing myself looking through adverts on EBay that keep telling me that the bits won’t fit! I am sure I had no problems with the brake shoes

    Rear brakes TD4

Hello all, can anyone tell me if the rear drums on my 2006 FL1 TD4 3 door are a different size or anything to the 5door. Last time I bought shoes I don’t remember there being any difference but that was a while ago. But I ordered some drums that were supposed to fit and found out today that they...

    Headlight cleaning

Bought headlamp cleaning stuff, seem a lot better and put new bulbs in. If it clears up this afternoon I’m gnna do them again and put a coat of the stuff on them that came with the cleaning kit. Then adjusted handbrake at drum and cable, which wasn’t as big a pain as it could’ve been. So will...

    Headlight cleaning

Ok, I have read a few more posts and think the problem is not on the inside but the outside as with everyone else’s post. The really annoying thing is I work in a scrapyard and we have binned 3 TD4’s in the last few months I could have had the lights off

    Headlight cleaning

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to demist/clean the inside of the headlight cluster on my Freelander 1 TD4? It is the facelift front and has failed the mot on this. I am really hoping it can be done without removing the whole unit but looking at it think it can’t. I think I have seen a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I put mine in van mode for renovating and moving into new abode, which best of all has a detached garage for me to live in. Oh, also looked in the boot cubbyhole and baled it out. Grandson was impressed with my luxury car pond though. Not all cars have that.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well, didn’t take long to find something else! One of the coolant hoses to the IRD has nearly been split by the gear change mechanism rubbing it as gears are changed. I have managed to move the hoses so it doesn’t chaff anymore. Have to change the hose soon as but didn’t have any handy...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Thanks. Just driven around a bit and I am pretty sure that has sorted out the problem. Leaked a lot from those connectors and I never even considered they could be responsible! Seems to be running better too although that may be psychological! Every day’s a school day. Now to wait for the next...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Received new ‘o’ rings for the injector spill off connectors and fitted them. The old ones were absolutely brittle and useless. Dried up the leaked diesel around the injectors and am really hopeful it was as simple as that to fix 🤞

What have you done to your Freelander today

So I think the leak is the injector return spill pipe. Does anyone know where I can get the replacement brass fittings that go in the top of the injector that replace the plastic ones? Thanks

What have you done to your Freelander today

Found the leak! The top of the injectors was flooded. I am thinking it’s one of the diesel feeds to an injector because if it was an injector leaking like that wouldn’t performance be affected? Which it isn’t.

What have you done to your Freelander today

I was contemplating trying to find the intermittent diesel leak on the FL TD4 but decided it was too cold so wussed out. I am wondering if it could have something to do with the FBH as it occurred to me I haven’t smelt it for a while and on closer inspection concluded that it isn’t actually...

I have had a look for the templates and have not got them. I do have the cartoon instruction book if you need it?

What have you done to your Freelander today

I seem to have developed a slight diesel leak on the FL1 TD4. I think it drips a little bit from somewhere in between the bulkhead and engine which is leaving a few drips on the floor when parked. The performance and starting is all fine so I am wondering if it’s something to do with the fbh or...
