What mods are required for this......

That has a wide arch kit on there so it potentially running spacers. Definitly running a large offset deep wheel for a wide tyre. Without knowing the size it’s difficult to say what would be required. But it does not immidiatly look lifted.

    Headlining….arghhh… help!

Make sure it is fully dry, they seem worse than they actually are if they are damp. They are also not as rough as they feel, if you have foam backed fabric you should be fine. Just make sure you have a good quality adhesive.

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

I had considered that, a lot of the secondary alternators mount there so it was a consideration but does not seem cheap and is a lot more work to diy than a simple turnbuckle so will try that first

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

Like this: Not sure there would be enough space on a tdi for that

    Opinions sought

I always give the advice for people looking at defenders that it depends what you are used to and what you are comparing it to. I do high milage in my 110, and would think nothing of doing 400miles in a day and regularly do for work. However it is all I have meaningfully driven since I was 18...

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

before I go diving into the depths of the internet where do you source you smooth belts form? I assume all I need is width and length to find the correct one once I have found a supplier

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

This is my problem with doing it. To do it successfully you need two people, one with the lever and wone tightening the bolts! if I do it on my own it last less than a month before needing to be done again. That is exactly the sort of think I am looking to do! website seems to still be live but...

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

I have never considered a smooth belt. Will go and have a look what I can find. I have tried serrated bolts and washers but made no difference hence looking at other options. I will take some measurements and buy one of the turnbuckles along with a smooth belt and see if that improves things.

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

I know and I am on my second new alternator pulley for that reason, but am beginning to get fed up with it. I know it is not just me and is quite common. I was looking at the second AC position alternator mounts and if that would solve the issue but a turn buckle is a cheaper starting point!

    Washer jet

if you are dexterous enough you can do it through the ashtray hole rather than removing the whole dash top. But if you are replacing I would advocate for mounting spray bars on the wipers and fitting a y-piece in the washer hose and feeding out each hose through the left hand drive wiper mount...

    200/300tdi air filter mount

This is where I have mine for my discovery 200tdi using the original TD filter housing and filter.

    Keep Losing Alternator belt tension

Feel free to say this is a foolish idea, I am spitballing here before comiting to anything. I have a discovery 200tdi with a 100amp alternator, unlike the defender 200tdi, the alternator sits on a sperate belt, the setup works very well but I need to tension the belt every 3 months ish. I have...

New 90 TDi Owner - let the journey begin

Little car ramps will probably not get it high enough to be comfortably wash the underside but will be better than sat on the ground. There should be a flap over the rear light already but it stops at the bottom of the body and not cover the crossmember. I have replaced these with longer ones...

New 90 TDi Owner - let the journey begin

Buy or make yourself a set of large floor ramps. I got mine off a chap who made them for his military trucks, is just angle and flat strap welded together. You can also make you own little mud covers rather than spending out for the expensive Gwyn Lewis ones. I have fitted extended front...

    Rear door hinges

Follow up question, is the casting the same on the later style hinges as pictured above? Can you swap the modern "sealed for life" pin for the old fashioned brass ball and spring bolt affair? Or did they change the design and it is an either or for the hinge pins?

    Rear door hinges

Thank you, I assumed the lower two were supposed to be the same. The lower red one is one I had in my spares box, the upper white one is an original from my 1988 station wagon. I assume as long as I get a pair the same it doesn't matter what the design is as both of these are doing the job...

    Rear door hinges

I have just noticed the rear door hinges on my 110 are not the same. They function and work correctly with no issues. But I am hoping to get a pair at Malver next week to rebuild and paint so I can continue using the vehicle. Are the hinges supposed to be different? Does it matter which style I...

    What 110 Variant for a Camper/Overlander?

Far to complex a setup! Pic taken from my Morocco trip, couple of hammocks is all you need.

    What 110 Variant for a Camper/Overlander?

Another vote here for a 300tdi as the engine you want. but in tersm of the body style it very much depends on how much of a camper you actually want and how many of you there are. You can get demountable camper bodies to fit in the back of a 110 pickup (there is one I see locally with that...

    Defender 90 Door Pillars

No idea on recommendations but when a friend had his bulkhead repaired (foot wells and top corners) it was significantly cheaper to get a mobile welder to come to him and do the work than it was to take the vehicle to a garage. He then stripped what was needed and supplied the replacement panels...
