P38 ABS Fault and Sporadic Speedo Reading

Thanks. The alternator was fitted a few months ago as a brand new part. Not that i'm doubting what you say but that must be something to consider. The SRS light staying on has also been an intermittent fault over the last few years. Often the SRS light comes on after the car has been standing...

P38 ABS Fault and Sporadic Speedo Reading

Sadly its not as simple as the yellow plug under the seats. Originally the car had manual cloth interior with a low line control module, but some years ago I fitted a 2002 electric leather interior and a high line body control module but the yellow SRS plugs arent there to plug in. Never had an...

    P38A Range Rover P38 Valve Block Rebuild/

I seem to remember assembling my block with a thin coat of vaseline on each seal as I put them in. That was some time ago now and i've no idea where I read that tip or whether or not it is advisable. It did work though. Never had any issues with it after that.

P38 ABS Fault and Sporadic Speedo Reading

Just taken the p38 out after doing a heap of work on it. Basically all the half shafts have been out and just about everything between those and the wheel has been replaced, including the CV joints and ABS rings. Everything to do with the brakes after the hard brake lines has been replaced...

Thats a very kind offer DT. It would be churlish not to accept. :) Do you want anything for it? Or is there an Auberge I can say thank you in, next time i'm heading to Ruffec.

AHHHH!!!! I think the heat has melted my RAVE CD. I cant get into it to see the manual. It was fine last night. Just searched Google for a free download but every link I click is dead. Could someone point me in the direction of a working link to a free download? Unless anyone would be kind...

Brilliant. Thanks both of you. I was concerned it was the hub but the seal sounds like a lucky escape. Any special tools required or can I just knock the seal in until its home?

Very damp NSR axle and back plate. P38a

Evening everyone. Hope your surviving the heat. This week, im about to get stuck into the axles on the P38a, 1997 2.5 DT. The front axle needs one CV joint and boot, so im doing both. Ill be in there anyway so ill change the ball joints as well and all this began because it was time to do...

Lots of slack and oil from transfer box.

Thanks, I greased the props and UJs before I set off this morning and that does seem to have calmed the noise down a bit. One grease nipple missing so that wont be doing it much good, but ill change that in time. Front diff and transfer box flanges do have about 1mm play side to side, so...

Lots of slack and oil from transfer box.

The last few days ive noticed a noise like a squeaky prop shaft UJ coming from the transmission tunnel area of my 1992 200tdi 90 Defender. Having had a look underneath the propshaft UJs dont seem bad at all but I notice that I can turn the front prop about a 1/4 turn by hand with all four...

    Odd electric problems 1992 200tdi 90

HOORAH!!!!! Cracked it, at last! Although I had pulled the relays out and replaced them, one by one, i just noticed that the yellow relays all had the same part number, so I swapped them around until I worked out which was the duff one. All fixed now. Cheers lads :);)

Nice drawing. Much easier to read that the Haynes Manual version I have been working from . Just pulled the dim dip relay out from behind the speedo but when I popped it open I was surprised to see theres nothing in it. If anything its just linking two pins together. Cant believe theres...
