Bleeding the clutch on a land rover series 2a

Bleed the master cylinder first then try again, if nothing coming through you may find that your flexy pipe between the master cylinder and slave cylinder has perished becoming porous.

Best mods for long distance motorway drives in a defender?

My old lightweight had a 2.25 diesel in it and drove all the way to Aberdeen from Gloucestershire with no issues, as said before take your time with plenty of stops on the way. Enjoy and have fun.

    Strange clutch related problem.

I had a similar problem on a series and it turned out to be the crank bearings were worn allowing the crank to move backwards and forwards marginally.

A defender is a good vehicle but if you want to use the middle seat for your daughter she will need to be small and under 5 stone in weight or it will get very cosy, however full seat belts in the front are better than lap belts on a bench seat. Good luck in your hunt.
