    Wiring Diagram - 2.5 NAD 110 late 80s vintage

I have done a good trawl of the forum...the internet...and even asked ChatGTP* and have found a low res example (as per the title) but does anyone know of a source of a wiring diagram? I have seen the lovely 110 military examples but these are likely to have some significant...

    110 Project

An hour spent before dinner last night saw the wayward electrical wiring examined... Its not pretty: The horn wiring seems to transit the engine bay via lh wing, cable clips in front of rad, rh wing...back into the engine bay and onto the air horn compressor. The heater fan is currently inop...

    110 Project

Removing the lh wing has proved...problematic. The snorkel is right in the way of the bulkhead bolts, and to remove that means the heater box is coming out. So that little project was parked until I could create a 3D record of the as-is of the engine bay. Its an aide memoire for when stuff...

    110 Project

With the floor up the R380 serial number is much easier to read. Its prefix is 68A with a suffix of L. Which, I think, means its a long stick originally fitted to a Defender. This may guide future choices for an engine swap...some may be easier than others. And no, the V8 (as much as I love...

    110 Project

Had a spare hour today so turned attention to the side locker. If there was ever a feature added that was a) designed to rust and b) designed to catch and retain crud, this modification qualifies. At some point its been patched with stainless sheet. The trim came off first. Then the tray was...

    110 Project

Every resto starts with the first bolt. Mine happened to be the rear propshaft UJ. I want to keep things as mobile as possible and the clunk from the rear had to go. All that rust had to go and the polywheel cleaned it up a treat. All the bits got a degrease and acid dip then a coat of that...

    110 Project

I have been mulling over what to do with the Isuzu lump. A 200TDI or 300TDI would be a logical way to go, if (and its a big if) a swap is to be made. I will get some photos of the current engine mounts and get opinions on how much its been hacked. Correct me if I'm wrong but a TD5 has an ECU...

Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

Does this mean swivel bearings, not bushes? 32 splines rather than 24 on the half shaft? All will become clear once stripped, but its always good to know what lurks before undoing the bolts.

Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

Best shots I can get with the wheels in place. Wheels coming off soon, but in the meantime hope these help with ID:

Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

I'm picking up the mood music on this...I did think it looked not unlike a 101 at the diff housing.

Axles and Wheels - Which Type?

These axles and wheels are fitted to my 1987 110 (the one in projects...up for restoration). The front axle serial number is elusive and I cannot find it but could do with an ID: Any clues there? Next, the rear axle. This is fitted with discs, which as I understand it, were not fitted until...

    110 Project

This is TBC. The V5 has a number...but the number stamped on the block is covered in crud and pretty inaccessble as far as I can tell. Will know for sure once the wing is off.

    110 Project

I have no intention of becoming the test case on this...so homework will be done. And I have some time. The age of the Isuzu engine may be relevant. Right now, no idea but worth checking. I do know the V8 is not going to happen. I love the exhaust note and the fact its a V8...but for many...

    110 Project

To me the latter is more important than the former...from a cash perspective at least. And for all its flaws, having an MoT history is no bad thing perhaps. Thanks for the advice. Much apprecaited.

    110 Project

The approach angle of the drive meant there was an interference fit between roof and garage door. I wonder if this is a bad omen? Does the landy really want to be restored? And if not will it fight me every step? Letting the rear tyres down solved this one and the landy slid into the garage...

    110 Project

I can't quite make out the serial number of the gearbox, but at some point its been fitted with an R380 gearbox, and the transfer case has a serial number that indicates it started life in a Range Rover or Discovery 1. The rear axle is also not stock as it has discs, not drums, and 87 would be...

    110 Project

Ah...bugger...righty ho...thus the value of posting stuff...I do not feel inclined to seek out a 2.5NAD anytime soon so will cough up/get the tester's opinion sorted.

    110 Project

I started out with a quest to find a 90 with a 200TDI or 300TDI with a rotten chassis and bulkhead. The kind of thing that was ripe for a galvanised replacement. After kicking a few tyres I ended up with an 1987 E reg 110 fitted with a Isuzu 2.8l turbo. Initial thoughts are the chassis might be...

    110 with Izizu 2.8 - Converting Back to 200tdi - What Mods?

The good news; Engine mounts look like they were made by someone who knows what they were doing. Adapter plate between engine and gearbox is marked "Ashcroft Conversions" So I think this one has been done properly with no cowboys involved. According to the VIN it was a 2.5 NAD originally.

    110 with Izizu 2.8 - Converting Back to 200tdi - What Mods?

All the work will be done by me...time served ex-mod apprentice taught to maintain, repair and overhaul everything from a motorbike to Challenger. Planned use? A vehicle I can truly own. Full strip, inspect and repair as required over a couple of years with grandson to pass on some of the...
