I did try to start the engine and have another go 1/2 an hour ago. Thought it might have magically freed itself. It actually stuck in reverse, jammed tight. I had to rock it backwards and stop it with a wedge under the tire, and then I could get gearstick out and into nuetral. I've checked...

Hi, thanks for reply. Yes lever goes into reverse no problem: when clutch is let out it wants to go, but just won't, engine almost stalls, exactly as if the handbrake is on. Which of course it isn't. Sometimes a bit of scrunching, yes.
