What have you done to your Freelander today

That has always been the case regards 'Cops being able to slap you with a fine' I take your article quote is not from a gov.uk website nor a legally savvy advisor more from a journalist looking for a slightly sensationalist angle to get his view point across. MOT rules are regularly reviewed but...

What have you done to your Freelander today

https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/retests It's very clear and very simple....read the above. You MUST have a pre arranged MOT appointment and as mentioned drive the shortest or most reasonable route to or from the testing centre. If you car fails a test but has a valid certificate from a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Then there would be many MOT centres clogged up with useless cars. And it would be a 'no brainer' to set up a recovery business to move such cars about and become an instantly successful business guru for doing so. I believe the orevious ruling remains extant. And will continue as before.

The law still allows you to make your way to an MOT test centre via the shortest and most reasonable route and back again or to your garage for repairs though.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Mine had that as an advisory last MOT(not in my ownership) wasn't mentioned this time around and I have been under the car to have a looksee....used an MOT certified(?) brake pipe inspection tool to scrape at the worst areas I could see and none on the pipes mentioned in last years MOT were that...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well, not today exactly but the past couple of days...... Fitted new rear shock absorbers and springs and strut mounts, rear flexi brake hoses and fitted new clips on all the rear brake union mounts on the daughters TD4 for it's MOT then m(f)ucked about with the handbrake to get it to work...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Had never considered a 3D printer but then, when I was a 'sad sack' and watched 'Wheeler Dealers' Ed China used one to make some inserts/light mounts to fit in the original lanterns on a vintage car so that he could run better lighting for the London to Brighton Rally. Thinking if you get it...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well, not so much today(yesterday??) but so far this week, I have dissembled the rear brakes, reassembled 'said' brakes and adjusted as per 'Bill Haynes'.......Still out of adjustment so will have another go. Had a good 'looksee' underneath, requires rear shock absorbers for MOT. Been to local...

    Landyzone 'Search' Engine.

Hey Troops Completely off Freelander topics but is there an issue/problem with Landyzone's search engine? Keeps coming up with an error message and 'Try Later'. Been like this for some time. I'm using an iPad ATM. Obviously have some 'P's and Q's...' regards TD4's and hate asking questions...

Freelander 1 TD4 Fuel sensor wiring loom 'upgrade'.

Hello 'All' Changed the fuel pressure sensor wiring loom today. All seems well, car pulls better from lower revs and away from junctions..(albeit a short(ish) test drive) Did another leakback test and will be changing one injector this week...(thats all I can afford) but it is the 'worst' one...

    Sun roof

Shaun, know you will be busy but any photos would be great. It's a job I have to do as well. The 'rails' mentioned by ted are 89-00 quid plus VAT (I think) on here.. https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/body-chassis-sunroof-parts-c-3792_25_2611_2612.html You may get them cheaper elsewhere...

Ha, thought so..Liqui Moly is German...not like them to lie about anything.....except emissions, 'Monkey gate', the ECB (whoops, getting a bit political) and well, take your pick on any other number of obscure and debatable facts of figures. I'm back home soon and have a small list of jobs to do...

Freelander 1 TD4 Fuel sensor wiring loom 'upgrade'.

Hello Troops All good I hope? Have been trying to locate a post(or two) that refer to the 'upgraded' replacement loom for the TD4 fuel pressure sensor (to/from the ECU) regards what has to be done to replace the existing one. Think I remember seeing one with a few photos but cannot for the...

    Common Rail Purge

Usually something that is advertised to be a 'cure all' for a problem but in reality is of no genuine benefit.......it goes back to the days of Cowboys and 'Injuns' when the old bloke in the top hat usually turns up in a town with a 'Elixir' that is probably a mixture of whiskey and anything...

    Td4 injector question

Hello Jim, Firstly have you serviced the PCV/changed the filter etc or do you have a BMW 'vortex' style upgrade. Where it goes exactly would be down to Nodge or someone who has 'fiddled' with the TD4 more regularly...the 'filtered' oil recovered would go back to the engine but any that gets...

    Td4 injector question

Hello Jim, Not been on here for a while so just seen this post. As your car stops smoking when 'warm/hot' it maybe that the injectors are not seated correctly, especially if someone has been in there before yourself. Think you mentioned doing all the necessary's regards new washers and o rings...
