How much of a mirror image of each are those manifolds? I was wondering if they are cut'n'shut-able to move them onto opposite sides.....seems a shame to waste tho lovely pipes :)
There are however, stainless steel 'sports' manifolds avaliable from people such as Rimmer Bros as well.
The 2.5 TD will sit on the petrol engine mounts. Use the ignition coil live for the fuel stop solenoid.
I would suggest that modding a new 2.5 TD exhaust is probably the best route for that.
Fuel piping will need changing as a diesel will require a return pipe to the tank.

It depends upon what is causing the vibration. If it is due to the steep angle of the UJs causing the yokes to 'clash' then a wide angle prop will solve the problem.

Rust is pretty much same as RRC. Inner arches, rear wheel archs, door sills, rear floor, rear crossmember under talkgate/door.
With the Tdi just look for regular maintenance and a recipet to show timely cam belt change.
The only real difference that you have to worry about as S71 said is clutch differences as the clutch release on the boxes is different between some S2s and S3.

The problem is that the 200Tdi rad has an inbuilt oil cooler. I would suggest that you cap the two connections to the cooler on the radiator while you use it with the petrol engine until you swap over and then you can plumb in the cooler pipes from the Tdi as originally...
