Freelander 2 (LR2) Non starter, help please

I don't think you can get the original. You have to replace it with the new one and changed pulley. I presume the OP asked for a timing ring for Freelander 2 and got what he asked for as it the only 1 available. Who ever sold it, didn't realise that to fit the early engines it needs some...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Non starter, help please

You are definitely right to get the correct CPS setup installed. Don't be to surprised if it still doesn't fire the injectors though, as there are other things that can stop them. They are of course controlled by the ECU, so if the ECU isn't seeing all the right parameters it won't open them...

What have you done to your Freelander today

lol. When its only doing 2k miles at most between 6 monthly WOFs, I tend to just let the examiner find any problems. The day before this WOF though I did change the drop links as it was an advisory on the last one and changed the wiper blades cos I noticed 1 had split when I was washing it.

    Over(free)landing

Wouldn't they be obscured by the "One Life Live It" sticker across the top of the screen? 🤣 Or should that be "Eén leven Leef het"? (according to Google).

Yeh, must admit, I was quite surprised at that one.

What have you done to your Freelander today

I cleaned it up lovely. It was lookin fabulous. And the bastids failed it! How dare they! I spent 30 minutes getting it looking that good. They said it needs a tyre and a power steering belt. But it was spotlessly clean. I'm dumb founded. :D

    Over(free)landing

Looking good. I'm not sure what facilities are in petrol stations where you go, but I'd be taking a tyre pressure gauge and a 12v (or foot) pump. If you haven't found out yet - 4 matching tyres of the same brand and model are a must on Freelander and they must be at the same pressures. It...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Took the F1 along for its WOF today. Took it into the wash bay at work first and gave it a good clean up and water blast. It always looks great when its had a wash. It was getting late when I dropped it off, so left it in the lines of cars to be done tomorrow and used a works car to come home...

    Worth new clutch

If they didn't, it would be a good idea to - even if none spilled. If they do it, warn them to release the fill bolt first as it is really soft and often causes problems if not taken off very carefully.

    HP FUEL PUMP TD4

On the L Series diesel, the timing of injection is all done by the pump, but the TD4 is by the injectors, the pump just provides the pressure to the common rail. However, isn't it driven by the timing chain? That being the case - yes, you would need everything locked or else you're in trouble...

FL1 Front Drive Shafts + More

Your first problem, well actually 2nd after spending quite a bit of cash on 2 drive shafts!, will be getting the hub nuts off. They are on super tight. Be prepared to battle with them. Scaffold poles over breaker bar and jumping up and down - or rest on the ground and let the engine do it if...

    Worth new clutch

This may sound stupid, but can other people hear this whine? My L Series was making a funny sound. My family could not hear it, 2 garages could not hear it. But the 2nd one I instructed to change the cambelt anyway. End result was a louder funny sound that nobody else could hear! That was...

Prices not making sense to me! LR2. 2.2 HSE

Its a shame the diffs on all models are only rated to 50hp :vb-groan2:

I did wonder that, and have kept them, but wasn't sure if the boots could be replaced.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced the drop links yesterday. Fookin Land Rover unreliability. Only been on the car 25 years. They still felt perfect when I took them off, but a boot was split, so I was told they need replacing when it was last WOFed and its due again. I was expecting them to be trashed because there...

Prices not making sense to me! LR2. 2.2 HSE

The lower priced one is a TD4 (160hp) with 80k on the clock. The higher priced one is an SD4 (190hp) with 43k on the clock. They are bound to be different prices. My TD4 has ample poke for me.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Rear Diff Rumble / Judder Just Started

Should say, that it may be the Haldex with the problem, but it will presumably do a good job of taking the diff out.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Rear Diff Rumble / Judder Just Started

Mine does that. It stops for a while, then when you think its cleared, it comes back. Maybe I just get used to it and don't notice it for a while. I recon its the Haldex rather than diff. There's something about a cylinder that get scored and catches what ever slides in it - or summat like...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Non starter, help please

Way above my pay grade, especially on F2. But a little investigation makes me wonder why a spacer was "made up". It looks like the ring changed spec, so a 2 piece ring (that would have been originally fitted to an 07 car) was replaced by a ring and spacer - so was an old type taken off and a...

Freelander 1 Freelander 1 - Dacia Steel Wheels

I was at my wealthiest at 25. Had my own flat, no wife, no kids, loaded. Its the next 30 years where you struggle! Then there's a brief period of wealth, before, presumably, you struggle again.
