A better Defender replacement than the new Defender?

lncorrect tyre pressures maybe. They seem to be delivered with 40psi all round and it should be around 26. l bought mine second hand six months old and the tyres were still at 40psi, the first owner had never checked.

A better Defender replacement than the new Defender?

l've read that quite a bit, phrases like "blown around like an empty paper bag" and l just don't understand because ours is absolutely fine, we've driven to Wales many times when my FIL lived there and we've been to London in it, obviously a few hours at motorway speeds. No issues at all...

Surprised he's not been back, if he bought a Puma.

A better Defender replacement than the new Defender?

The new post 2020 Jimny is really very good. lt's a lot like a late model old Defender, but 3/4 the size. The underpinnings are the same, live axles with mechanical low range transmission lever and separate chassis etc. lt's all plastic trim inside, like an old Defender. This is great in a...

A better Defender replacement than the new Defender?

Jimny five door. Sadly not available in UK but addresses the small size of the three door. lt's also cheap, under £25,000. A little underpowered but no worse than an old Defender. lf these were available in the U.K. l would sell my new Defender Commercial and buy one. Only minor...

It seems someone drained the main gearbox oil case on my puma 90 2007 2.4. Damage assessment enquiry

lf the gearbox is working and making no untoward noises, just forget it. You've most likely got away with it. Residual oil probably saved the bearings over the short time you drove it with no oil. The other components will have taken a beating but if all is quiet now it may last another 100,000...

Post 90's/pre-L663 90 model with airbags? (First time Landy).

When did you last hear of a serious road accident in a Defender. l only know of one, and it was years ago.

Post 90's/pre-L663 90 model with airbags? (First time Landy).

No Defender ever had airbags until the new model in 2020 but that version is of no interest to you. Although Defenders aren't like cars, airbags are not as important as they would be in a car. l would suggest a Defender TD5 although you'll need around £10,000 for a good one. Your main problem...

LANDROVER SCAM .. 5 sunbeam street wolverhampton..ebay ..smart reconditioning

Being a crap garage isn't a crime, you can't be prosecuted for it. They deny not releasing vehicles, claiming disagreement with the owner and refusal to pay the invoice meaning the vehicle is withheld.

    Defender 90 stolen- Sheffield.

Sadly, it will most likely be in Africa by now. My friend had his 110 Puma stolen, he got home from work and checked his tracker and it was already on a ship in the North Sea. lnsurance just paid out, and did nothing, sad that the ship couldn't be intercepted at the other end but probably not...

    Td5 instrument cluster

If you really want you can fit a complete "Puma" dash to a TD5 Defender including working LED readout. l've seen it done so l know it's possible Much easier solution....sell the TD5 and buy a Puma.

    Are flux desperate?

£166 to insure a Defender TD5 is insane, l've never had a quote that cheap for any main vehicle l have owned in the past 40 years. It must be on a "Classic" policy to get it that low. (not your primary vehicle, limited mileage) l once had a Ferrari Mondial t which was insured on a Classic...

    Are flux desperate?

lnsurance is un fathomable sometimes. l've got a 2022 Defender and worse than that it's the "Commercial" version which l use for my business. We're with LV and last time it was £300. l knew that wasn't going to happen again though. I was getting some scary renewal quotes in October and started...

New member in need of advice

l think he's come and gone. There won't be any chance of a contribution from Land Rover on a ten year old vehicle. l would be interested to know what's "completely knackered" on that engine. If the bottom end is okay it could be rebuilt
