l didn't think the TD5 was as prone to rust as the earlier models.

This one needs some love. The bulkhead has completely gone. But its certainly cheap, if you can change the bulkhead yourself. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186480804323?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=MlAT5FnqSom&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Cj4IjO6GTG6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

LANDROVER SCAM .. 5 sunbeam street wolverhampton..ebay ..smart reconditioning

I guess not then. I had a look on Ebay this evening and it's awash with adverts for engine reconditioning, companies been on Ebay for years with hundreds of 100% feedback but when you look at the feedback it's for random stuff or doesn't come up "no relevant feedback available" is one message l...

What money should I be asking?

Definitely agree, yes. May sell to someone in (say) London who had to dispose of their Defender TDCi

What do you think of this Defender

Well it's still for sale, l think the market for Defenders at this price must have dried up somewhat. lt certainly has round here according to my local LR specialist. Although l can't imagine you'd find a better TDCi Defender than this one.

What do you think of this Defender

You're right. And don't even start on the discussion as to whether the Puma "Utility" five seat 110 is a "Commercial Vehicle" with HMRC.

What do you think of this Defender

l've spoken with my accountant and it's not straightforward. The figures don't work very well for this exchange. lf l sell the new Defender Commercial now (it's worth around £46,000) l will get a tax bill of around £10,000. As it's owned by my Limited Company and l claimed tax back on the...

What do you think of this Defender

l assume it was taken over to France when new, and then given the French equivalent of an MOT every year. And then it had its first U.K. MOT when it was brought back to the U.K.

What do you think of this Defender

l have to say l am not a great fan of the Ford TDCi engine, had one in a Transit some years ago. The economy was poor, and it never really ran perfectly. However it was still going at 100,000 miles so not all bad.

What do you think of this Defender

lt's lived in France at a chateau and been serviced annually despite the low mileage. Over 1,000 of the mileage was just driving it to France when it was new, and back again on sale. l haven't actually viewed the vehicle, the seller is right down on the South Coast and l am in Manchester

What do you think of this Defender

Well, no but it seems to be the price you have to pay for the lowest mileage late model Defenders. For one with 70-100,000 miles the price is around £20,000

What do you think of this Defender

For sale, very low mileage looks almost new. Apparently has lived in France, owned by multi millionaire who kept it at his chalet. l am interested as it looks so nice, but don't have much experience with the Ford engine version. l've only ever owned TD5's Prices certainly seem to have dropped...

Land Rover Defender TD5 ABS Modulator

My local LR specialist regularly rebuild these ABS modulators so it certainly can be done. They recommend making the ABS trigger every few weeks as apparently it rarely does in normal Defender TD5 driving. Brake hard on gravel, grass etc. Stops the shuttle valve seizing up they said.

    TD5 Catalytic Converter

No CAT as standard until the 15p engine (if yours has the updated dash it's probably a 15p) lt's not really a CAT more a particulate filter. My 2005 sailed through the MOT every year with the pre-2002 front down pipe (no CAT) l tried a new CAT on mine as the original didn't seem to do anything...

    Defender L663 review !

SUPPLEMENTAL WHAT IF ANYTHING DO I MISS ABOUT MY OLD DEFENDER? Now l was thinking about this tonight while listening to my missus playing in a swing band. l was reading about a woman who was a Leprosy Doctor in Vietnam in early 1962, and she was kidnapped with her Land Rover. The vehicle was...

    Defender L663 review !

MAY UPDATE, NEW DEFENDER Well, the new Defender is still performing without issues. Mileage is now 12,000. l still find myself looking at late model Puma 110XS for sale while sat in the bath, but at the moment l am sticking with the new one. Looks like the Grenadier has finally been certified...

New Defender 90 Rear Seats Conversion L663

Well, £40k minus what you could sell the Defender for at the end of it....likely around £15-20k if looked after. Still cheaper obviously to keep your old Disco. l thought long and hard before selling my 2005 Defender and buying the new one but being in business and using the vehicle all day...

New Defender 90 Rear Seats Conversion L663

The figures don't have to be that bad. Under £40k for mine after l put it through my business. While it won't hold its value like an old Defender, looking for example at the Discovery 4 values it will probably still be worth £20,000 in 10 years if l look after it.

    Defender nut and bolt rebuild

That must be the best series 3 in the world. But £40,000 for a Defender Hard Top, can they really be worth that much? Wow. lf you bought it you'd have to store it in a barn and only take it to shows, or you'd wipe £25,000 off the value after a couple years regular use.
