The insurance on my 2022 Defender went up from £300 in 2023 to £700 in 2024. No reason, had no accidents or claims, l am just over 60 years old.

That looks fantastic. It's a shame the new Defender wheels don't fit the old model as l have a set of five new take off ones with tyres and wheel nuts etc for £500

The washer jets are on the wiper arms. They work very well. lt looks like it just sprays the water in a fan pattern in front of the wiper and then gets spread across the glass. There's no missed bits and it clears the screen in one cycle (forwards and back)

Great that you got it repaired. l wonder how the cable got broken. Thieves sometimes disable the battery to silence the alarm. l wonder if it was tampered with at some stage.

Sadly the O/P has never been back to update. However He said it runs if you connect a jump starter pack.

You mean if you are stationary in neutral holding the RPM at 2,000 it fluctuates. Or when you are driving along holding a steady throttle it changes RPM on its own? The TD5 has an electronic throttle pedal and it's known to sometimes give trouble. You could try a new (or good used) one. Also...
