Morning all. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and getting out in their financial black holes 😂.

Is it normal to get exhaust fumes in the cab when driving with the rag top rear flap open? Definitely seems to be an issue with mine. Cannot really say the same when the rear flap fully closed.

I’ve recently had a new SS exhaust and manifold fitted so will check for obvious leaks, but definitely seems to be exacerbated when running with the rag top open.

Thanks as ever for any insight

Pretty much so, had to drive my hard top with no rear door for a while as it was under repair. I did put a spare tail gate on but fumes came in. Best one can do is have the bulkhead flaps open to have a through flow of air.
Other rag toppers may have different solutions.

Thanks all for your replies. Obviously not an isolated problem and just par for the course when running a rag top rear flap open! Small consolation in that at least I don’t have an exhaust leak!

It's been a few years since i drove YFO but i can't say i ever remember sniffing exhaust fumes with the canvas on. I probably wouldn't have driven around with just the back flap open though. If it was hot weather i'd roll the sides up too so maybe that's why? If it was hot weather for a while i'd remove it altogether and in case of showers overnight i'd got a big polythene bag that would fit over the driver's seat when folded forward against the steering wheel. It's is an old Recaro from a Capri. I didn't cover the passenger seat beacause it's vinyl. NO IDEA what it's out of but it ain't a Land Rover!
