Hello Everyone

Picked up Discovery 4 so tough I'm going need some forum members help at some point in my ownership due to nature of the beast so why not join in.

Been honest I was looking at them for 2-3 years and alway put off by the shear amount of problems. Had enough of my current car as we just didn't have enough space, took me about 4 weeks to find the one I liked and most importantly with very little rust. For Disco is actually good with price range I had and year of car.

Decided to buy older one simply as I wanted to have fair amount of money left incase the dreaded crank and knowing what I know it doesn't matter if the car done 60k or 120k.

For me is long time purchase with eyes wide open so let's see how expensive this ownership will become. Already since pick up tailgate actuator needs doing and new disk and pads, they not gone yet but done have lot life left. Knew about it when buying. What is unbelievable is dry underneath, not even moist and it wasn't wiped down or anything. Cambelt due next year so will see if I can get it done or will be LR specialist. It was very pleasant drive back home nearly 300 miles but won't lie bit nerve wrecking. I am going to brake down 😀.

Welcome
Happy spannering.
Been out green laning with a friend & they are good to watch going over cross axle stuff. Oh and all in comfort
Something I would like to try been honest, plan is take wife and our dog ideally stay somewhere overnight is well. Could do with getting some AT tyres as currently sitting on normal ones and not sure I would want to chance it unless there is someone with winch.
Come a cross Disco3 forum is well with wealth of information.

Was doing brakes today and tailgate all sorted but found a nasty surprise. Towbar electrics cable has been handing down near left exhaust and it just burned it. Looks to be disconnected IMG_6809.jpeg

Depending on where you are in the country.
This was in wales for 3 days He drags his trailer round a few lanes till we dump it on a campsite.

East Yorkshire, but definitely would love to tag along with someone round Wales one day. Learn the ropes. One of the reason for getting Disco is just getting out for couple days at the time. Both cars in picture looks well prepared. Regards that trailer is that self build? I know there is few companies bringing product to market and looks to be the trend, kinda ideal if you need space in back of car for dogs ect.

Trailer is a self build but most are based on old army sankey trailers. Does get a bit expensive to build but once done he enjoys freedom of weekend away and pitching where ever he wants. All self contained

As for the Hilux it’s only the back that’s been modified to store stuff & has a roof rent on top. Normally tags along for a week of lanes from there home in Germany

I’m sure East Yorkshire has a few green lane groups,it’s just finding them(don’t know any on here)

Enjoy
