Hi, I just thought I would introduce myself. I am Gordon from Christchurch, New Zealand, and nearly a year ago I bought a nice green Discovey 2 V8. The plan is to do a few minor fix ups as a bit of a hobby, and explore some of our nice back country roads here. The first thing I want to do is sort out a few electrical gremlins due to water leaks / condensation around the BCU and IDM areas. I have the typical symptoms of no electric windows, no fuel flap, no working hazard lights, but indicators work fine. And of course no front & rear wash wipe combination, or intermittent wipers. A few other sysmptoms too, but it still starts, runs, and drives fine.
I plan on swapping out the BCU and the interior fuse box with some items picked up secondhand. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of it.
I have already done the basic servicing of all fluids, replaced the front brakes with some LOF Power Spec pads after replacing the leaking front axle seal (The new pads work really well). I also plan to fit a CDL linkage from a D1 that I picked up from a salvage yard.
Of course it's winter here now, but in the summer I will have to tackle the water leaks, and get the sunroofs (that are supposedly sealed up) working properly.
You guys have got a great forum with plenty of experience and knowledge, so thanks for letting me join.
kind regards
Gordon
