Yes, I have read that but haven't tried it.
Maybe the new unit is working as it should and the old one didn't.
That’s what I was wondering to be honest. Maybe the old one was never firing up. It comes on with ignition live I.e. before you start it up. Thought that was odd.
I’m fairly sure it’s running sweet. Hasn’t spiked on temperature and doesn’t ever go over 95ish on my housing temp.

Fitted touch screen CarPlay to it now. I didn’t mean to get attached but seems I have 😂

Not sure how the engine fan can come on before the engine starts?
Unless I am misreading something?

Are you going to use both side and the passenger side when you run out of space?
Yes! Previous owner started it and it made me chuckle so I continued.
She’s still being used daily!!!
Current observations ideas are:

Think my leaks gone since doing rocker cover and cyclone

Steering wheel still needs straightening - I’m sure you can put a locking pin at dead centre but can’t remember?!

I have a boost gauge to add to my pod. One to fill the hole and 2 just to keep an eye more than anything.

Bought some 3d printed cup holders that are a copy of the LR ones

My suspension is haaard. Not horribly, but a bit skittish - I’d prefer it softer but it does hold the road well on whatever it’s on. I may chance the whole kit that lr direct do when I want to treat it. Don’t want fancy - boge or munroe will do.

The inside is transformed with new headliner and the CarPlay - just feels so much cleaner!

Brakes stop but aren’t great - I’d like to get the pedal a bit higher. I may get them to do this with mot. She’s had new lines, pads, discs when I did the front end bits.

Need to put my new grease gun to use on the UJs- realised all other ones I’ve had are inferior to the Swiss!

But if slap in drivetrain. Not front members or drive shafts and I can avoid it when I drive it. Might just be where I’m driving new stuff. Not a frame as that’s been done.

Need to change tranny, TB and rear diff oil then that’s full lot of fluids.

It’s really satisfying refreshing it rather than welding constantly. Bit sick of welding so haven’t bothered getting gas refill but going to get a steady few days on the resto when I take a week off soon.

Yes you can on the steering box.
Either take wheel off and repostion
Rotate/Move the steering arm off the lower steering tube
Or undo the 2 ujs & reposition steering wheel in correct place(think 1 of the UJs has a wide locating spline,so spin & fix)

Thinking the steering box does not have the wide spline

Bit more tidying up. This was rusty and flaking everywhere. I meant to only clean up where my fuse box earths but ended up taking the lot back to metal.
Epoxy primered then only had half a can of black left so used some caliper paint
