Understanding a mot advisory note

Afternoon all,
I'm between defenders at the moment and considering buying a defender 110 puma 2010. It ticks all the boxes for me but has a note on the last mot stating, 'rear suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive'.
In layman's terms what does this mean? Is it significant to be worried enough to walk away? The 110 is not pristine but I'm not after a shiny one just one which will not cause any chassis issues.
Any advice gratefully received.

Probably some surface rust, but the best thing is have a look and if that is not your thing have someone who knows Defenders check it.
As you probably know chassis and bulkhead condition most important when it comes to Tratters.

To you have any pictures of the chassis? I think that if it was something serious and widespread then there would be a lot more advisories relating to rust.

I'm currently having my bulkhead repaired... some moron prior to me owning it thought it best repaired with filler and fibreglass!

Doesn’t sound like a deal breaker if the rest is good enough for your purposes

The trouble is every MOT tester is different, some see a little rust and discount it another will advise and another would fail,
So get it checked by someone that really knows,

The bit they are talking about is rusty. You really need to visualise it and everything else yourself to see what the general state is

It could mean he is a fussy tester or it could mean its shagged! and as the mot was for a mate he put that bit in to cover his arse in the near future.

I assume the prescribed area means the point where the rear shock attaches to the chassis?
