Hi I live up near Aviemore I do not have a land rover yet but looking to buy a 110 van that i'd like to turn into a camper, I have a budget of about £11000. I hope thats enough to get something decent.

Your budget should get you a decent 110. Don’t forget to keep some money for the conversion and any issues that arise. And invest in some decent security measures for the new Landy too. Post some pics when you get it as well!

Where about in Aviemore do you hail from. I used to holiday there while serving at her majesty military domain at Kinloss. Trying to remember the B+B but there was a go-cart tract near the main hotel and ice rink. Also I used to have a girlfriend there working at the big hotel. Beautiful place. does the Boat of Garton steam train still run back an forth.

I'm actually in a village near Aviemore called Nethybridge where the steam train still comes after leaving Aviemore and goes through boat of Garten.

Just looked the map. I wasn,t far from your village. When i came home on leave at Kinloss. I turned off outside Forres to head for Grantown on Spey to get to the A9 outside Aviemore. Only difficult part was when it snowed badly they closed the road off. All at night to get my first stop Perth then Penrith and finally Manchester.

Welcome. £11K seems like a good budget I'm sure you'll find something reasonably decent for that. Just watch out for the outwardly nice and shiny ones with knackered chassis.
