I'm from Brisbane, Australia - and yes I am also on AULRO.com since forever.

Figured I'd join up here too - the more the merrier eh, and doubles my chance of a successful search for whatever I'm looking for!

My other interests
- History. Especially colonial era maritime history.
- Motorcycles. I ride a Suzuki GSX1400
- Guns. I shoot 'Edwardian' and 'Farmgun' with my old Brno SxS.
- plenty of other stuff like drones, computers etc etc etc.

Here's why a friend named my previous Defender "Rolly"

And here's my current Defender




(but has a different hard canopy on now)



Plenty of stuff to do...

Notable mods / work done:

- Steering guard and recovery points fitted.
- Traxide headlight wiring loom upgrade
- 7" steel rims with 255/85 R16 tyres
- Safari snorkel
- ARB bar
- TJM brush bars / side steps.
- Rear Maxidrive diff lock. (currently not working. I need to work out wiring and fix/replace switch)
- maxi drive HD track rod.
- front and rear axles convert to oil fed lubrication.
- timing belt replaced (full kit, due again, parts on the way)
- Inside handle above door to assist passenger.
- Terrafirma cranked trailing arms, upper spring hold down plates, dislocation cones and dropped top shock mounts
- added tie down points inside tub

Have obtained the following (not yet fitted)
240W LED light bar
Fyrlyt spotlights
Icom UHF
Pioneer mechless head unit.
Install air compressor in tub and "hard wire" for tyre inflation.
Winch (with synthetic rope). Requires rebuild.
Led lights external (stop/tail light, indicator, position, reversing)

Still on the wish list:
- chequerplate guard tops and bonnet protector.
- various engine monitoring instruments (EGT, Boost, Water temp).
- replace rear springs (current are WAY too heavy now I don't have to carry 1 tonne plus payloads in the back).
- sound / heat insulation.

And that's about where I'm at.

It's Vlad the impaler, although that picture does infer an alternative reason for him being called the impaler
