P38A P38 4.6 HSE

Hello. Got my Uncles nice silver P38 4.6 HSE tucked away in a nice dry shed. I just wondered what the consensus of opinion is, as to whether these vehicles are going to keep depreciating or have they bottomed out. You can call the one i have (A Good One) I much prefer the old Series Land Rovers and need space for another Series Land Rover really. I did take her for a spin the other day abd id forgotten how nice to drive they are.

If you believe the trader hype and what some are asking then I'd say yes. Prices do seem to have bottomed out. Until the lower and scaggier ones have all been scrapped and parts are becoming rarer then I think the price will be slow to rise though.

HSE sounds like a top model pre-99? So you're in the right territory. I've got a bag of wine-gums if you're desperate for the space?

Just seen you're in Cornwall. The sea air does horrible things to cars. I hope that shed is hermatically sealed!

Just has a browse on eBay and I see nice examples relisted that are struggling to break £2k. Then I see dealer listings quoting "collector quality" whatever that is, asking for £4k, £8k, £12k and more. I'd love to know if they ever manage to actually shift one because as far as I can see you'd have to be nuts to pay that much unless it was an Overfinch or the full Holland & Holland complete with guns etc.

It is difficult to find a good cheap one now..

Leaving it to sit will prolly kill it, oh and yes they will appreciate but not if it sits

Re P38 4.6HSE 1999 electrical issue. I'm new and not sure I'm posting this in right place. I turn on headlights, all ok, but if I indicate the hazards come on and the beep beep warning sound starts. Same if I turn on wipers. I end up turning off headlights to set it all ok. Anyone known this and what to do? cheers

Usually people introduce themselves in the introduction section and then start a new thread in the relevant section but ...

Do you have a digital volt meter? Engine running, what volts are showing, headlights off and then headlights on?

Could be as simple as a bad earth.
