I'm looking to replace my pump on a 2.5 N/A engine. My local diesel injection specialist has just closed down, so i've been looking online. Bearmach, Allmakes, Britpart etc. all can supply a new CAV pump, all at varying prices but no one seems to supply any detailed information about the pump. I wondered if anyone has any experience with these pumps or knows if they really are a genuine CAV pump, and is it worth buying. I always took stuff to my local injection specialist, as i knew the work was done well, but buying something unknown from the internet seems a bit of a risk.
Thanks.

If the local diesel specialist was part of a chain, ask at another branch or maybe just visit a local independant LR specialist who might give you a better idea.

Not part of a chain so can't go there.
As for local LR specialists, they're all unknown to me, ie, i don't know their standard of work and may well find them trying to sell me the same pump that i could buy online.
I'm a very cautious buyer, as there's lots of crap out there and lots of cowboys, so i have to know who i'm dealing with.
