I use gutter sealant a lot as its black and stays a bit soft so you can get things apart. Evostick is very hard to get right and it dissolves in petrol.

I used super glue. I'm not planning on replacing them again in my lifetime but they were a bit of a pain to get to sit correctly.

evo stick for me. it worked 
I plan on keeping mine long enough that I will have to replace everything more than once!

I also used black silicon....stuck em on and clamped down over night with the vent itself.
exactly the same method I used.

It's much easier to fit the later type of seal which fixes to the vent flap using self adhesive.

Do not get the open cell type foam ones,they hold water and promote rust.
