I have a 2002 Freelander TD4 with a few issues. The mechanical ones I’m dealing with without major problems but the electronic ones are becoming the Bain of my life!!
I bought it 3 months ago with out many issues but now they are coming in thick and fast. First fix was the faulty indicator stalks. Window wipers now work fine but the SRS light will now not go out the horn won’t work and the reverse lights don’t come on. All a major problem as the MOT is just around the corner.
My question is can all these problems be caused by the new indicator/wiper stalks?

There's going to be srs and horn stuff wiring near the stalks so its possible, maybe check you've not dislodged something. I had 2 reversing bulbs blow at the same time before, don't discount that.

Best to ask Freelander questions int Freelander section as not many Freelanderers venture out of the safety of our section of the forum.

Power problems like wipers failing, reverse lights not working intermittently etc can be caused by bad contacts on the switch at the rear of the ignition. Especially if they work intermittently and seem to fail at the same time, then work ok at the same time.

Do the reverse lights work with electrics on only, or when the engine is running?

Is it an auto or manual gearbox?

Thanks Hippo, it’s a manual box. The reverse lights aren’t coming on with electrics or engine running. The bad contacts at the rear of the ignition is a very good possibility as the previous owner was a smoker and when I took the wheel off to replace the faulty stalks the wiring area looked like an ashtray!! I hoovered it out and now I’m wondering did I move or break something. I wouldn’t have a clue where to even start looking how to fix this if it is the problem.
