Hi All,
What a sickner driving back from Leeds today and the three ameigos kick in........I ve booked it in for Monday at a local garage in Newcastle for a its annual service which is good timing but now facing extra costs.

I have checked the hubs and they seem sound so lets hope its a wiring fault.....will the nano technology pin point the problem easy enough for them to fix and is this going to be a 2-3 day job?

Cheers in advance

Nano technology? May be a tad small for work on a Disco.

I think you mean Nanocom, and yes that will point you in the right direction; so will other diagnostic devices such as the Hawkeye.

I'm sure you've done a search for the 3 amigos - you have done a search, right?

The usual causes of the 3 amigos are either a faulty ABS sensor in which case the usual repair is to replace the faulty hub or an electrical problem with the shuttle valve switches, for which a modification to the wiring can often effect a repair. There are some other less common faults which could give the same symptoms.

The only sure-fire way to know what the fault is would be to connect the Disco to a diagnostic device.

Yeah done a search on the Three ameigos....seems an intermittent problem is easier and cheaper to fix....I just hope it gets a spot on diagnostic as its annoying replacing a number of parts to correct a problem when only one part is causing the problem.

Cheers

In the absence of any diagnostic kit, I would do the modification first as last. If it works then all's well and the 3 amigos will go away, if it doesn't work then you'll know that the problem is probably a hub and diagnostics will then be necessary to find out which hub is causing the problem. The mod won't detract from normal operation of the vehicle.
The cost of the mod is just a couple of lengths of wire and about two hours if you've never done it before.
Run a Google search for SVS Mod and there are some pages including a .pdf which give full details on how to do it.

Well got the news and it has been a fault on the osf hub that I replaced from a breaker 3 month ago......thought I may have got longer than that, the chance you take I guess with breaker yards.

I have also been informed the fuel pressure regulator block has a slight leak from it. £££ is what I ve been quoted which is money I have not got so........I ll be phoning a few breakers yards again and looking to see if I can fit the parts myself.

Any advice is welcome thanks in advance
