Series 3 Recently purchased a Series III and have some questions

Completely off topic but can anyone tell me how the rear silencer hanger mounts to the chassis outrigger (RHD SWB)? I am referring to the assembly pictured below:- The one that came on the vehicle was a bodge so recently purchased the correct hanger from John Craddock.

Thanks Blackburn that is really helpful. Looks like there should not be an inline fuse in the brake warning circuit so this was probably an addition by a previous owner.

Doesn't come on at all. I think I will put in a standard 17.5 amp fuse for a one-off test and let you know the outcome!

Yes re the auxiliary panel, exactly like the one in steve2286w's pic above. I'll try to get a picture of the wiring arrangement on the weekend. Thanks again for all the input.

Cheers Rob. No radio and only a 'rear guard' fog lamp. The inline fuse holder behind the 'auxiliary instrument panel' is connected to the brake warning relay and the wire is black with a white tracer. The fuse that was in there was 3A and blown before I purchased the vehicle. I understand...

Series 3 Recently purchased a Series III and have some questions

Another question after having spent some more time on the Landy:- There are two inline fuse holders that I can see — one behind the 'centre console' and the other behind the main gauge cluster. These do not appear to be shown on the circuit diagram in the workshop manual — does anyone know what...

Series 3 Recently purchased a Series III and have some questions

Thanks again all, will check the selector clamp bolts. One more question - is it unreasonable to expect more than 40 mph out the 2.25 Diesel (120k miles and no overdrive)? Mine doesn't sound very happy doing anything over 35 mph.

The below are from the Series 3 Parts Manual - I think yours may be from a IIA or earlier.

Series 3 Recently purchased a Series III and have some questions

Thanks again for the helpful replies. I don't think I will be able to resist the urge to take off the tunnel cover and check the selectors. Will take a few pictures when I get around to it. I do have one more question about the rear silencer. The one that came with the Landy was badly corroded...

Thanks very much both! The picture of the gear stick is a bit deceiving. It is cranked near the 'ball' and looks the same as the one in Adrian's post.

Series 3 Recently purchased a Series III and have some questions

Hi All, I purchased a 1983 SWB Series III recently (2.25 NA Diesel) and after having thoroughly inspected it and carried out a few initial fixes/adjustments, I have some questions which I should be very grateful if any of you could assist with:- 1. The gearstick hits the lower crash padding...
