Friend of mine had the same happen to his 2000 D2 Air bag top mount rotted off, he had it welded quite a bit of welding once it was up on lift. Cost was about £800 but at least it's back on the road for a few more years yet

Good news that its passed the MOT. But is it working you say that you need to continue with the fault finding, was the timing ok ?

You need more fuel 6lts is not enough to put a level in the tank and fill both stages of the pump, filter and pipes. As Jamesmartin and Sierrafery said give it the 3min purge you will hear the air in the system, may have to repeat that so very little air can be heard, wait a bit turn the key...

Tip. Stop the alarm sounding remove the rear fuse (horns) in engine fuse-box and pull plug on horn by fuel switch engine compartment passenger side. Immoboiliser is still active as shown by light on dash but its quieter while you work. Same fault with mine one lunch time, fob not working so...

Be careful this might not happen to your roof but I used masking tape to seal around sunroofs, when I removed the tape it pulled the lacquer off. Roof now needs respraying. As for fitting kit sorry can’t help. I want to do the same job one day as just the front bars are a pain, 8x4 sheets...

Hi thanks for the info, but its just the plug and connecting pins I am after on the main engine loom, so I can make up a new lead from head down to red ECU plug. I have changed the injector loom washers etc.

I have a 2003 Discovery when the alarm is activated, the alarm sounder rear nearside of engine bay and main horns by radiator all sound at once. The car is standard so I think this is normal.

This may cost you about £60 to £80 quid but if you can arrange to take it to a recomended independant garage and carry out a full dionostic check, the TD5's eletronics and fuel system are good at hideing faults as I found out the hard way. Have you tried another Discovery out to see if it has...

I dont know the TDV6 but my TD5 did the same sort of thing, lumpy tickover sounded like it was missing then cut out. Fire up on easy start and cut out, I should have bought a code reader but ended up taking it to local garage who found 2 injectors had failed. This may be of some help.

EGR removed and emissions reading on MOT was 0.6, less than 3 is a pass. It was 2.6 before the injectors were serviced and EGR removed
