hi again, we found two relay untis behind the dash, and pulled out the first large pink one - and a samll brown one - for a few seconds the lights were perfect at dipped. now with the small brown realy out, the lights are back to their non working standard - the small brown relay look shot away...

thanks fanatic, i have just been out with my young son, and eased out the dash, but can't immediately find the relay. The is a Yellow Relay within the main fuse box at the gear stick area - it wouldn't be there by any chance - mind you that also serves the fog light too. best we go back out...
