Absolutely. How many hours of labour would be considered normal to do the repair? Just so nobody gets my pants down. Especially considering the cost of labour here. Additionally, what is the general opinion on aftermarket parts?

My mechanically minded friend checked the engine and saw nothing. I think this has just been rotten luck...

Hey Blob! Amazing breakdown, mate! Extremely helpful. I have not had time yet to start the car and try the bubble test... But after reading your description, I have a horrible feeling it is the manifold that has split. I quickly snapped this...

Hey guys. Thank you so much for pitching in here. Car is going in for an inspection next week. I have attached the full error. @Blob Yes, I now realise that I was not looking at the fuel injectors. Shows the depth of my mechanical knowledge...

Been there a few times. The pictures aren't of the injectors though, that's the fuel rail. OP, grab the full text from the code please; I'm fairly sure that it will say something like "boost correlation issue" which is where you have a...

Hi all! I picked up an L322 3.6 TDV8 this afternoon. The trip back home was about 5 hours... 25 minutes into our motorway run we get an error in the GAP tool the old owner gave me. P023D-22 - Manifold absolute pressure turbocharger /...

XOJJX posted the thread L322 Seat Replacement in Range Rover.
Hi guys! Noob here. Is it a big job changing the seats of an L322? I have my eye on a car and it looks terrific other than those boggo basic HSE seats! I want to upgrade them to the Vogue seats of 2007. Fronts and rears. Is it a big job to fit...

Hello. Oddly enough, they aren't that strict here in cities yet. Maybe it's because public transport is very good, meaning many people just choose to train it in anyway. Plus, parking is very expensive. And cities are tiny, other than Vienna...

Sound advice. Got a call about the 4.4 AJV8 tomorrow N/A. If the service history looks okay, I will probably put an offer in. Take it straight down to get a service and all the oils changed. Then just roll with it. Expect the worst, hope for...

Fuel economy doesn't worry me. Only doing around 6,000 miles a year in it. Soundtrack is well worth it.

Just out of curiosity, what is the reputation of the naturally aspirated 4.4 Jag V8 petrol engine? Other posts have said that this, with the 4.2 SC, are the most reliable engines of them all.. Less common and comes with a burble...

That is one of the reasons why I love the cars between 05 - 09. Styling is amazing. For me personally, the 09 facelift gave it a glitzy look that I am not particulary fond of. The digital display makes it more modern which turns me off... I...

The market here is different. 4.4 TDV8s seem to demand a considerably higher premium. I would be looking at at least 16,000 EUR for a 165,000 km+ car.

No, sir I am based in Vorarlberg, Western Austria. No kangeroos here, my man. Not many Rangies either... Sadly. Look for the oil spill, you'll see me.

I will probably live to regret it. I will report back and allow @Datatek the "I told you so" moment. ;)

I might just take the plunge and write of the 5k if it all goes pear shaped. I am sure I could even flog it for 2k with a major issue...

I have heard the 4.4 TDV8 is the best of the lot, but I simply cannot get on with the look of the 3rd face lift of the L322.

You could get a 4.4 TDV8 2011 for that amount of money these days and have a better engine train IMO May have a little slush fund left over ;). J

Thanks for the response. 205,000 miles, 330,000 km. I would be buying it with the expectation of having to sink 4,000 EUR into it over the next 6 months or so. It will not be my only car. Only planning to do 4 - 6k miles per year in it... Not...

205000 miles or kilometres? If miles I would say it's at a point where it will need a lot of attention in the near future.

Afternoon, everyone! I am new to the forum. I am in the market for an L322 and have shortlisted it down to 2. Option one has 121,000 miles, 4.4 V8 BMW 2003. 9.500 EUR. Option two has 205,000 miles from the 3.6 TDV8. 5,000 EUR. Both from...

Hello, mate. I am also based in Austria and looking to import an L322. I see you are in IBK?
  • X
How did you get on with the import after you know what. I imported 2 into Austria and, although hassle as chassis numbers were not on chassis etc did it ok in the end and tax was straight forward. If anyone is importing into Austria I will...
