Hi - Just an update, I think the problem lies with a faulty knock sensor which is causing over fuelling down one bank of cylinders. Im trying to get someone to let me know what the resistance should be on the sensor when removed from block and unplugged. Anyone?

LOL...well I was just getting all the electrics etc ship shape. I didnt realise the windows had to be reset everytime the battery is disconnected. However, the big end knock which I thought was prevalent is actually a sticking tappet. An oil and filter change sorted that and its fine now...

Definitely sounds more like ends - either little or big. As soon as you take load of the throttle, it goes quiet again. Its definitely not pinking/detonation.

First P38 purchased today, and it seems to have a metallic "knock" when under load under normal driving conditions. It does not do it when idling or when revving freely. When this happens, the engine is up to running temp but no signs of over heating occuring. No management lights on etc...
