or how would you go about setting the xyz switch without the special tool..

just thought does anybody know how the special fitting tool works for setting up the xyz switch on a td5 auto disco,

i changed the xy switch, it now changes gear as it should from 1st right upto D but with this xy switch the R dont light up on the dash and then it wont go back wards, untill i move the gear changer a little bit then the R lights up and it starts to move, i think i must have two faulty xy...

got it started, needs high revs to pull off, sometimes stays in a low gear when it should change up by its self.. also the lights on the gear changer dont light up on D and N unless i pull on the gear changer while im driving any ideas pls..

nice one, ive just been back to it and found the wires boken off the top of the sensor, going to get my soldering iron out... lol

if i was not conected would that stop it starting..

turns over just dont seem to fire up.. is there any sencers that i may have moved ..

thanks for that replaced the drive plate, grearbox back on now car wont start any ideas thanks ..

driving along lost drive after a small vibration, there was a small tapping noise on tick over just before i pulled off, but did not think much of it. no drive in anygear but the tapping niose has stopped and the engine ticks over and revs nice,just no drive any ideas where to start looking...

just been to my landy and the wipers front and back wont stop they just keep going till i turn off the key any ideas pls thanks..

built it back up it now ticks over nice but when i try to rev it, it sounds lumpy and lots of white smoke at the rear, could it be my diesel pump any help pls..

hi i found that my 200tdi was running a bit ruff and a lot of smoke when i got to the first junction about 100 yrds . found the bottom crank pully lose, striped it to find the first wood ruff key had gone and the second on all in bits, so replaced the cambelt and keys but still running ruff...

hi there yes mate engine was running, just wounded if it was my touq converter or main gear box any ideas before i start to spend.. thanks woody.
