When I referred to the earlier engines being better, it was advice from a Landy specialist garage, but specifically in relation to the earlier heads being a little less susceptible to the cracked injector seats I think. Although yes - I'm a total novice so also happy to be corrected!!!

There are 2 located near Poulton Le Fyde to check out, a 2000 and a 2001 I think, and an older 1999 in Carlisle, all at dealers, but better advertised...

Thanks for the replies gents. Yes I'd seen a couple of immaculate Jap V8s. It's a consideration, but the reliability of a V8 would be a worry, and parted with the LPG that it would probably need.
Seen a couple of Galv chassis replaced ones with higher mileage. And there are a number of 99/00...
