Hi UKAirbourn, When I did eventually fix mine I found that the water level in the drain tray could rise above the height of the motor drive hole, that where the water came in to ruin the sunroof motor, I found that the drain tubes as installed were taped to the roof, this raises them up...

I tried that on mine, but the worm drive didn't disengage, so I gave up, maybe You have to push the allen key in really far to disengage the mechanism, the allen key worked when I removed the actual motor, leaving just the gearbox in place, also was then able to set the marks to the correct...

on mine the small clips that held the switch block to face plate broke on one end, so the switch block wouldnt stay attached...I used thin doublesided foam sticky tape, no glue getting into the switches...worked a treat for the last two years.

After reading this thread...this would get my vote, this way you get your Richards chassis and any other bits at a reasonable price, If you just get the chassis and bulkhead done, with any specialist work you feel you cant do then most of the work is just labour to do the swap, you can finish...

As there is a 6mm gap around the whole of the glass in the roof and the inner seal sits below the roof level, without the drain tubes the gutter tray that fit on the underside would fill up with water, with no drain tubes there wouldn't be any place for it to go. Now as the inner seal is below...
