Thanks to Kermit and Ratae for their advice.
Changed both Lambda sensors and got through mot. Sensors were only a year old but my garage (over 40 years with LR) tells me quality pants these days.
Showed the MOT inspector the flow chart, he said he cannot veer away from what he is told to do when...

My garage is changing the lambda sensors although one or both was changed last year, but they say latest examples are notoriously short lived! Yes just been serviced and they are happy with condition.

Thanks I think I should be tested under Chart 2 for passenger cars first used before 1st Aug 1995. This seems to say that if it fails Basic Emissions test, it should be retested via specific EGA? database levels for the specific vehicle or failing that non cat levels. If my understanding and the...

thanks to classic kev and discool. My son managed to source the plastic detent washer (genuine part) garage fitted it and working. Just in time as currently central locking/alarm blowing its fuse so having to use manual locking!

ClassicKev. Thanks that looks promising. Door panel back on at the moment, but the picture I took shows the RH on the end of the lock barrel but no clip to slide off. Certainly ops the same 2 rods next to the cam. I will keep you posted. The discovery complete lock may also be an option.

Thanks Kev, can you explain D1 items?

My RH Drivers dock (key barrel) just keeps turning and does not unlock the car. The ‘plastic’ disc on the inside end has a detent which has broken off. The barrel and operating disc are 1 assembly. The parts (both LH & RH Locks are listed as obsolete and I cannot find them anywhere. Can anyone...
