    Well, an update.... Tried some heat but made little difference but still trying to avoid sump while engine suspended on engine crane so made a special 'thin' 1/2 ring spanner with the help of Mr angle grinder..... Success! torque convertor removed with flex plate. Now having inspected...

    Yep sump off seems to be next option although some heat on the threads to burn off threadless may also help? Tried irwin bolt grip sockets but they simply chew more metal from bolt head maybe better if I could hammer it on. Final option is to cut through tc mount.

    While removing torque convertor bolts on my engine 4.6 gems, I rounded one of the bolts and they are a pig to get at! Can I remove the 4 bolts that hold flywheel and flex to crank to get access? Anybody done this? Are they too tight for an open ended wrench? Any other access suggestions...
