cheers for the replys. and i dont think its head gasket casue the leaking water isnt coming from the block. it as coming out from near the bottom of the rad.
i had the rad and thermostat out today, removed the drain plug from the bottom of the rad and it a layer of rusty sediment at the bottom...

ok so the other day i fitted two new core plugs to the 98 range rover 4.0 se i brought. filled the cooling system up no leaks started it and it got up to half way on the temp gage ans seemd to stay there. but i could here a leak that was under pressure. but saw no water comeing out.

the red wire should be connected to the positive on the battery terminal but it just seems to go to the connectors and relay which go no where apart from seem to loop through the driver side lights. any know what they are suposed to do?
and this is the one that comes from the bonnet it...

just read that a flat battery can casue the gearbox reading. ive been using a practilly dead battery so i can just the car from another so it mite be y its kicking out this fault along with a couple of others :) cant beat forums for finding info!

hi ive just brought a se which has had a core plug pop out. so it need replacing. ive located it and it semmc to be the one on the passengers side and its just slightly covered by the engine mount. has anyone done one before and have any advice on doing it. i no how to fit a core plug but is...

hi i just brought a mk2 range rover 4.0ltr se auto with LPG conversion.
i got it for cheap because one of the core plugs has poped out which obviously made all the water leak out.
is there any advice you could give for repairing it....... i know how to fit it and everhing but just to make...
