    Smokin' 200Tdi

Hmm. Booked it in to see my local landy bloke. Took it across there this morning and on the way it seemed to sort itself out. I have been running it on biodiesel and he reckons there might have been some resulting crap in one of the injectors stopping it from closing and causing overfuelling...

OK. So I just loosen the nut. Combinations of two injectors seem to not have much effect at all on the smoke at the back. When I loosen number one(?) injector nut (nearest the front of the engine) I get a significant drop in engine note. Loosening the others in turn does not have the same...

    Smokin' 200Tdi

Right. I have run a bottle of Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment through it - put half in a new fuel filter and half in the tank. I changed the air filter at the same time for good measure. I started it up and it ran, then struggled on and off for about a minute, then ran - but no change in the...

    Electrical Nightmare - Help?!

Dan, how did you get on with this? I have the comedy issue of the horn coming on whenever the wipers are working. Also, no horn. I will try the earth straps as described above and will report back. Cheers, Vulch

Right. I've tried the injector cleaner - which has had no effect. I couldn't get hold of Forte so use the comma stuff instead - is this the same thing or is forte significantly better? I have now also loosened each injector nut in turn - which causes the engine to struggle, but no real change...

    Smokin' 200Tdi

Thanks very much guys! I have found the stuff on amazon, but imagine my local motor factors might also have some from the look of it. I have a pretty full tank - will running through this tank before adding forte make the problem worse? I could probably find a way to pump it out if I had to...

    Smokin' 200Tdi

My 110 200Tdi is chucking out loads of exhaust smoke. It is grey and hangs in the air - so I don't think it's the head gasket - the water vapour would disappear pretty quick if it was that. The haynes says to check the injectors by pulling off the union for each injector in turn - apparently...

Could this be clutch or gearbox problem?

Could it be your handbrake binding? When mine did this it felt like the whole vehicle was shuddering. Cleaned up the expander and it was fine... Vulch

What are all these relays? (200tdi)

Excellent. Thanks for all your help! For some reason I thought that there would be two flasher relays - one for hazards and one for indicators. I don't have a rear screen demister as the body is from an 81 110 - don't think it was ever connected - but that there is still a relay for this does...

What are all these relays? (200tdi)

Having problems with my indicators blowing fuses and think that the hazards might be involved too. I put the hazards on for a minute or so the other day, and then there was a buzzing and then a click from the fusebox - one of the relays, I think. Fearing the worst, I tried the indicators...

Indicators - what to pull apart first?

    Thought as much ;-) Cheers!

Indicators - what to pull apart first?

Thank you! Only problem now is that every google search about working out if landy hazard switches are faulty link to a LR4x4 page, which seems to be down at the moment - along with the rest of that site! Any ideas on how to test one? I am guessing that the hazard switch is the same one for...

Indicators - what to pull apart first?

My indicators are playing up - if I indicate right fuse 5 blows after a few ticks. I have disconnected the indicator units, but the same thing happens - just after a little bit longer. The horn was not working either - thought it was probably on the same fuse - but no! It is on fuse 1! I...

    Brake shoes too big?!

I bought some aftermarket shoes for my 110 - the shoes are bigger on the 110 than the 90 - however, the guy in the shop told me to grind off a bevel all around the wear pad to stop it binding. FWIW it worked for me! Cheers, Vulch

    Wheel stud removal and replacement?

It was very very easy in the end. The studs are just pushed through the back of the hub. I got mine out by gently encouraging them with a lump hammer. And it was only gently. Hit the end of the stud and eventually it just eases out. As it was a rear hub assembly and it had drum brakes, I just...
